Get Involved
Junior Jobs - Become a new developer
An easy way to get involved and become familiar with KOffice applications is to start with Junior Jobs. These are easy tasks which are very much needed and by choosing one and doing it, you will get great help the KOffice Team for the next release.
Ask for more details to the contact if you are in doubt, we'll be very happy to guide your first steps!
Become a documentation writer
Here you can find information related to writing or updating KOffice documentation.
Please read the How to write documentation guide in order to learn some very useful tips!
This should be done in docs in trunk, for KOffice 2
Other tasks
KOffice is a very large project. There are many fields where help is needed (all fields, in fact). If you want to contribute to KOffice you could:
- help programming. This means development work on the main applications, new applications, filters (desperately needed!), plugins and datatools, more functions for KSpread...
- fix small bugs if you find them and send a patch. See also the Task List.
- translate KOffice
- draw graphics
- contribute artwork
- help maintaining koffice.org. See the Web Task List.
- test KOffice extensively and send descriptive bug reports via the "Help, Report Bug" mechanism in the programs.
- donate money or hardware Yes, this is needed in free software development, too, e.g. for extending the KOffice server.
If you want to help the KOffice developers (or even become one) please subscribe to the koffice-devel mailing list (or use the KOffice mailing list) so you know what is needed and we avoid duplicating work. Please do not be angry if you do not get instant replies - everybody has got a lot to do.
